Camping season is here! Or almost here….it was warm this weekend, now cold. We’ll see how it goes.
There’s something about slowing down to live life that makes one appreciate it so much more. Back to basics - collecting water, cooking over a slow fire, walking everywhere, just concentrating on the business of living. Not to mention the sunsets and long silences….total self-absorption, total immersion.
This must be what a spa feels like to spa-going people.

Blood-bound in a tract,
sister in name, enemy in fact.
Busy life in an empty space
gaunt eyes in a plump face
watching for the other’s demise
to get a portion of decent size.
All is foreign, but the prize.

Back from lovely Yosemite this weekend, and I’m strangely discontented. A big cooking spree is in order.
